WOOT! I am super excited because as you read, Mike and I are on our way to Lollapalooza! I’m most excited to be seeing The Killers, Lorde, Chance the Rapper, The XX, Arizona, Foster the People, and so many more! And because the food at Lolla is also a highlight, when we’re not dancing, we’ll be eating.
One of the highlights of Lolla, aside from the music, is Chow Town, where all the festival eats are. The vendors are Chicago classics and up and comers, much like the musical artist selection (aside from the fact that all the artists aren’t actually from Chicago, but, you get the picture).
Here are some things we’re planning on eating, in no particular order.
Chow Town North:
Tank Noodle: all about the spicy sriracha chicken and crispy fries, especially when they’re of the Vietnamese variety.
Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria: because deep dish.
Tall Boy Taco: looking forward to their al pastor tacos.
Kuma’s Corner: super popular Chicago burger institution, with heavy metal inspired burgers.
Kamehachi: chicken and potsticker rice bowls.
Dark Matter Coffee: gotta stay caffeinated!
Chow Town South:
The Original Rainbow Cone: because ice cream and hot summer music festivals go hand in hand. And because rainbows.
Graham Elliot’s: Elliot is the celebrity Chicago chef that got to pick all of the food vendors and his sweet corn battered lobster dog is a festival classic.
Wow Bao: I will never say no to a pillowy soft steamed bun filled with tender savory meat, except when there are potstickers instead ;)
Harris Ice: snow cones to cool off from the hot hot heat.
Harold’s Chicken Shack: Word on the street is that Chance the Rapper digs it, and I never say no to fried chicken :)
